Notification
Notifications in the Alive App
This documentation explains how notifications work within the Alive App and how they are managed. Notifications allow you to reach users directly in the app — whether you're sharing new discounts, announcing news, promoting special campaigns, or informing them about technical matters such as app maintenance.
All notifications are sent from the Portal module of the Alive Platform.
If you’re looking for step-by-step instructions on how to send notifications, you can find them here:
👉
Notifications appear in the Notifications section of the app and can optionally be delivered as push alerts, making sure your message gets noticed.
Push-Up Notifications
When installing the Alive App, users are prompted by a system message asking whether they want to allow push-up notifications on their device.
If allowed, these notifications will appear as system alerts — for example, on the lock screen or in the notification bar at the top of the screen.
To check whether a specific user has granted permission for push-up notifications, you can view their consent status in the Old Portal, where all user consents are clearly displayed.
In-App Notifications
In-app notifications are messages that appear directly within the Alive App, specifically in the Notifications section. These notifications are not shown as system alerts, which means they do not appear on the lock screen or notification bar, but are accessible to users anytime they open the app.
This type of notification is ideal for sharing non-urgent information, such as:
New discount offers
Event invitations
Updates from your organization
Tips and recommendations
In-app notifications are visible to users based on the targeting and scheduling you define in the Portal module. Unlike push-up notifications, they don’t require special device permissions and are always delivered to the app’s internal message center.
